Neotame, CAS# 165450-17-9, is a artificial sweetener manufactured through chemical synthesis, available as white powder with no odor. Neotame is widely used as sweetener as it is between 7,000 and 13,000 times sweeter than sucrose. It is widely accepted as safe food additive in many countries with E number E961.
