Gum Arabic, CAS# 9000-01-5, is a complex mixture of glycoproteins and polysaccharides manufactured through extraction and isolation from two species of the acacia tree, available as Off-white to Yellowish Granular or Powder. Gum Arabic is widely used as food thickening agent. It is widely accepted as safe food additive in many countries with E number E414.
1. Gum arabic can cause gas production, diarrhea, and loose stools when ingusted in large amount.
As Gum Arabic is widely known as safe, there is no limit on dosage of intake. However, we still recommend consumers to consult professionals before using large quantity of Gum Arabic for long period.
